October Stuff

Every Thursday the student group has a fundraiser selling shaved ice.   A nice weekly treat.  Along with this octopus grip tripod thing for his phone.

Off to bed they go….

A beautiful morning sunrise.

Most of Quinn\’s teachers post the homework on their webpage.  So when he gets home from school we make a list of his to do\’s.  This list was particularly long but he knocked it out with no problem.

Now that it\’s cooling down and the snakes aren\’t all over, Sonic and I are back to our morning hikes.

Quinn is 12!

It\’s hard to believe that our Mighty Quinn is 12 years old!  The 12 best years of our lives.

The middle school PTA has a fundraiser for the school to put personal messages on the marquee!

We started celebrating on Sunday since his birthday fell on a Wednesday.  We started off with a funny butt joke card.

 Opening his big gift.

It\’s a Virtual Reality headset.  You put it on and you enter the game yourself.  Fun times!

He got this cool magnetic spinning levitating globe from this Grandpa and Grandma.  It took a while to get just right but now it\’s his new nightlight in his bedroom.

Lucky Quinn that his actual birthday was a school holiday (Yom Kippur).  So we took 2 of his best buddies to the Virtual Reality experience in Century City.

Tween selfies.

Tween too cool to smile.

Our first experience was Alien Zoo.  So much fun!  The boys (and moms) loved it!

After lunch we came home for a donut cake.   Yum!

The personalities coming out!  So funny.

Happy Birthday Quinn!  We love you!!!

Middle School!

Today was the first day of 6th Grade and Middle School for Quinn.

This is the year that parents drop off and don\’t walk kids to their classrooms.  We had prearranged to meet up with some friends so that the kids could go in together.

These kids are in Intermediate Band this year which is only offered as an additional class in the morning and they start 50 minutes earlier than the general population.  Quinn starts at 8:05 am and gets out at 3:10 pm.  It\’s a long day but the only way for Quinn to continue with band.  The sun was so bright!

Quinn and Principal Klinger.  I have been pretty impressed with Mr. Klinger thus far.

And off they go.   Quinn was not nervous and was ready to go (although not ready for the end of summer break).   I watched him for as long as I could.
We had several opportunities to go into the school before the first day.  Quinn picked up his books, got his locker ready, and also got his ID.

Putting his lock on his locker.  We got one with letters so he could spell out a \”word\”.  The word he chose is not a word but that\’s our boy.
