He Swims

They say be careful what you ask for.

We have been trying to get Sonic to swim since the day we brought him home.  Well on Saturday it happened!  I was playing tug of war with him on the beach entry and I pulled him in.  He had the toy in his mouth and he swam around.

And he swam….

….and he swam and he swam.  I think the retriever in him needed something in his mouth to make it all work.

Quinn looks thrilled.

Shoot the moon!

Shoot the mama!

Shoot the boy.

It\’s amazing how Sonic just knew how to leap like this in to the water.  All that Labrador Retriever was in him, it just all came out today.

Pam Was Here :)

We were all so happy to have Pam/Aunt Pammie visit this past week.

We all love having her here but Quinn was especially excited to see her.  We don\’t get to see her as much now that we live on opposite coasts.

Pam and Quinn with his \”sand\” (rhymes with wand).  It\’s 98% sand, 2% polymer, and 100% awesome!

On Thursday we drove up to Ojai and were thoroughly bored so we made our way down to Oxnard for lunch on the water.  Pam said it was the highlight of the day!

We drove home along the Pacific Coast Highway.

More funtime with Sand.

We had lots of pool parties while Pam was here with lots of fun in the hot tub!

On Friday we walked along the beach in Ventura and had lunch of the pier.

We finished up her visit with an epic pool party and more hot tub time!  Quinn didn\’t think she stayed long enough but we will take what we can get.

Come back soon Pam!!!

A Full Day of TBall

Today was the last day of TBall and it turned in to a full day of TBall.

First the game.  Quinn asked Coach Mike to play First Base and Coach Mike let him.  Don and I couldn\’t believe our eyes.  Quinn is not quite ready for First Base.

Quinn wasn\’t really paying attention to the game and a teammate threw the ball to him and it hit him right in the chest.  Coach Mike is giving him a pep talk.

A hit.

Oh, the faces.

Great game.  The kids love to run the bases after the game.

Go Storm!

Although Q isn\’t always excited about his TBall games, he was sad that today was the last game.  But it was a good season with really nice boys on the team and 2 great coaches.
Then it was on to the post game pizza party and trophies!

Quinn and Zach are like two peas in a pod.  I am going to work on getting these two together over the summer.  Zach will be in 1st grade next year at Quinn\’s new school so it would be great for Q to have a friend there.

Our spectacular boy with his coaches Dale and Mike.   Quinn was named the Most Improved Player!

We had had a little break and then it was time for a birthday swim party for one of his teammates.   Today\’s activities gave us a chance to talk to the other parents and get to know them a little better.  I was happy to learn about all the kids that will be going to Quinn\’s new school, Lang Ranch Elementary, next year.

Also invited to the party were neighbors Roland Williams, an exNFL tight end, and Dee Dee Trotter, a gold medalist in track who will be competing in the Rio Olympics in 2016.  An interesting touch on the day.

We started our tball day at 8:45 am and finished at 5:15 pm.  Then home for our own pool party and time in the hot tub.  A great end to the TBall season.
