Bought and Sold

We had a very productive and tiring week in California but it paid off because we have a contract on our dream home and we found a wonderful school for Quinn.

Although we lived in SoCal for 4 years, it\’s very different going back with a 5 year old.  Ultimately we decided we wanted to live in Thousand Oaks in a neighborhood that feeds to a specific school system.  Because of our timing we won\’t be able to get Quinn in to our \”home\” elementary school this year but we hope to move him for 1st grade.
After looking at several schools we found a school that we think will be a perfect fit for him, Pinecrest School.  He will start kindergarten here on September 3 and we will go from there.
Now on to our house.  We were so happy to see Patty who happens to be our friend and realtor.  We looked at alot of houses in alot of areas.  On Tuesday morning we met for coffee and Patty showed me a brand new listing for a house in TO with a pool in our desired school district.  By the end of the day we made an offer.  By the next day they had received 2 additional offers.  Their agent told Patty that the sellers really loved the letter we wrote and wanted us to have the house.  After a little bit of negotiating everyone was happy and we have our dream house.
There is something really special about this house with special touches where ever you look.  We looked at another house that was this exact same model and the two didn\’t compare.
The pics are mine and are not the best.
We are on a cul de sac.  The end of our street.
Looking the other way.
Entry and living room.  The floors are hardwood with inlaid carpeting.
Dining room.  Look at those big windows!!

Family room.

Cucina.  We love the back stair case.

Guest bedroom (on first floor)

Guest bath.

Upstairs.  Right to left:  laundry, bedroom, bedroom, bathroom.

Quinn has already chosen this bedroom as his.  He liked it because there was a computer in the room and expects to have \”his\” computer in his bedroom.  Sorry kiddo!

Hall Bathroom.

Looking in to Master Bedroom.

Master Bath.
La pièce de résistance.  If you don\’t know, don\’t ask 😉

The view from the master bedroom.  Looks like we have kids behind us.

There is a large loft area between the master bedroom and other bedrooms.  The current owners have it set up as TV/Office space.  I\’m not sure what we will do with this space yet.

Back stairs leading to kitchen.

And back down stairs.

A view of the patio.  We wrote the furniture in to the contract so that will stay with the house.

And our favorite part of the house.

The current owners have done an amazing job with the landscaping.  Palm trees and succulents wherever you look.

And the back of the house.  We love the curtain rods and curtains.  Very clever.
