Daffodils

On the Saturday before Easter we were thinking about going to a local nursery for an Easter egg hunt. When I visited the nursery\’s website I saw a post about daffodils being in bloom at a local arboretum. OK, not so crazy about easter egg hunting with 20 or more other kids, we decided to head to the Reeves-Reed Arboretum. It was a beautiful, peaceful spot and the daffodils were definitely in bloom. We went at high noon so my pictures didn\’t turn out great, but Q still looks very cute. Oh, the poor guy in his \’monkey suit\’. Grandparents! You better enjoy this because this is for you 😉

I happened to be looking through some old photos and came across this one of Q\’s oldest cousin, Big Al. He happened to be 2 years old at the time his mother also dressed him up in some crazy monkey suit and set him in front of a bunch of daffodils. Poor Cantelo boys! History repeats itself, but in a cute way this time.

Hard to believe that Alex will be celebrating his 20th birthday in a couple of days.

New Boots

One of Quinn\’s favorite DVD\’s is Thomas\’ \”Splish, Splash, Splosh!\”. Thomas and his pal Rosie run through mud puddles splashing each other and other engines. They are very cheeky that way! Quinn has discovered that it is quite fun to splash with his feet, scooter, Thomas, whatever. I thought it was high time to get him some rain boots so that he could do some proper splish, splash, sploshing. Of course we\’ve had nothing but sunny skies since the boots arrived, but that didn\’t keep them off Quinn\’s feet.

Take a look at these beauties!

These photos were shot on our first really nice day where we spent all day outside. At the sandbox…

playing with trucks…

on the swing…

and hanging from the rings. Take a look at that wet, sandy shirt.

Quick change in to some dry clothes and off we go (with boots!).

Let the splashing begin!

Uh oh! Something went wrong. This is a funny succession of pictures.

Head down.

Kind of a \’fake cry\’ look.

Yeah, happy again!

Boo Boo Juice

Quinn got his first knee scrape of the summer and it is probably his worst to date. He was walking down the patio steps in his new rain boots and took a tumble. Here\’s the damage.

I remembered that I had this diaper spray that also said good for boo boo\’s. I told Quinn it had magical powers and it would make his boo boo feel all better. The power of the mind! Don nicknamed the spray \’boo boo juice\’ (you have to say it quickly). If Quinn catches a look at his scrape, he\’ll ask for some boo boo juice or maybe \”mama/papa kiss boo boo\”. Mama gives his boo boo a gentle kiss while Papa gives it a big raspberry. Go figure 😉

Sadly, Quinn has fallen 2 more times since this scrape so his knee is looking pretty raw. But we have Boo Boo Juice!
