Camp Read Alot

Quinn\’s teacher is a genius.  She\’s also 3 1/2 days away from summer break.

This past week Mrs. Cano set up two tents in the classroom and the kids were asked to bring in a flashlight. On Friday they were supposed to bring in their favorite stuffed animal but Quinn forgot about it.  With tears in his eyes he asked if I could run home and bring his \’buddy\’ to him.  So I did.

When I walked towards the classroom I thought it was empty. It was dark and absolutely silent.  I walked in to this.

Quinn (and his buddy) in the back of this tent.  You can see his big head shadow 🙂

There was even a campfire.

What a great ending to 1st grade.

Around the House

Quinn\’s current favorite fruit is a ripe, juicy nectarine and he asked to make a Nectarine Smoothie with his special recipe.  Nectarines and yogurt.  So here you have it.

Quinn in a new very cool shirt.

Quinn\’s completed homework.  It wasn\’t until I was checking homework for his class the next day that I realized he did all the math in his head.  All the other kids had the coins written out.  Wow kid!

The places he lands with a book.  Funny boy.  And Sonic.  He likes to hedge his bets so he stays on the stairs to see whats going on downstairs but can be upstairs in an instance if needed.

The Yankees

Quinn had his last baseball game of the season.  And he had his best hit of the season too!   Double Wahoo!  Unfortunately he hit the ball hard to first base and was tagged out (although he never felt the glove, thus he felt he should have been safe).

He improved so much over the season and made some great new friends.  And he persevered.  Both kids and parents were so positive and supportive of all the team members so a great season and so glad he played.

So proud of our boy!!!

This wasn\’t his hit, but here\’s a video of our tough guy pounding the plate and swinging.  You can watch it larger on youtube here.

Go Yankees!
