Sunday Hikes are Back!

Odyssey is back in full gear so every Sunday Quinn spends his afternoon with his team working on their problem.  So Don and I get to hike!

We had just had quite a bit of rain and all the open spaces were closed to the public.  I remembered reading that the trail to the top of Tarantula Hill was paved so we decided to give it a climb.  It was only 1 mile round trip but it was a straight up hill climb.  But so worth it!

We met a mom, 2 girls, and a dog at the top of the hill and they offered us snacks.  We got the little girl to take our picture and she did a great job!

Photographer in the Making

Quinn started back to school on Monday.  On Tuesday I got a call from the nurses office that Quinn had been feeling nauseous and vomited.  Sometimes he does this in the morning after he has eaten a sweeter breakfast.  Once he vomits he feels fine but the school doesn\’t want him there.
So we enjoyed a nice day at home.  Quinn has been asking to learn about photography so I pulled out the good camera and he practiced shooting the hummingbirds.
Look how well he is holding the camera.

I set up the tripod so he could just hit the shutter.

And his pictures…

Later in the afternoon we got out of the house for a short hike.

LACMA

One of our Christmas gifts this year was a membership to the Los Angeles County Museum of Art or the LACMA.    We decided to get the most out of our annual membership and paid them a visit.

A double capture of our family in the balloon monkey in the courtyard.

Feeling like proud annual members.  And Quinn gets a free NextGen membership.  He\’s one of the cool kids!

There was a really great 3-D exhibit going on.  Do these look familiar?

And the 1/4 mile of artisitc panels from Rauschenberg.  It only took him 17 years to create these.

And one last reflection selfie in a Rauschenberg.   And notice Quinn has on his favorite casual comfortable shirt.
