This year Quinn surprised the heck out of us and told us he wanted to join Color Guard for their Winter Season. The schedule is brutal, especially after doing Marching Band in the Fall, but he wanted to go for it. And he loves it! We were shocked but very supportive and it’s been fun to have this new activity in our lives.
First up we must have the right gear!

The team practices 3 days a week after school for 4 hours and they have 5 competitions that run all day Saturday and several Sundays so it’s a busy March and April.
This year’s performance is called Match Point and is a tennis based performance. Quinn lucked out getting to wear white tennis shorts, shirt, and shoes. Many of the teams have skin tight sparkly costumes.
They had their first competition on February 28 and it was our first chance to see the performance all the way through. Quinn and Nelly are the rookies on the team so you will see them taking a more supportive roll, although at 3:10 in the video Quinn carries Nelly accross the floor on his shoulder. What a great moment!
There were 9 teams in their division and they finished in 2nd place!
We are so proud of Quinn for trying something new. He’s had a very busy January & February and when I commented on that, he said “It’s my last year of high school and I want to make the most of it!”. I’m a very proud mom.
