WHS Senior Night

Westlake recognizes the Seniors from Band, Football, Cheer, and Dance at a home football game. This year the game that was picked also happened to be Middle School Band Night and we were expecting about 65 middle school kids to perform with the High School Band and Middle Schoolers can be really squirrely. But, we still made the night special for our big group of Seniors.

One cool tradition is that the underclassmen make a poster for each senior and the band members in their section (ie Brass) sign the poster.

There are 26 Seniors this year so there were alot of posters to make!

We have to get them their Senior sashes so they really stand out.

Warming up with the middle school brass section.

The whole group playing Ozzy Ozzbourne’s Crazy Train. It was pretty amazing to see how disciplined the high schoolers were compared to the middle schoolers. They are excellent role models.

Me and my senior mom partner in crime. We are working together to make this the best last year of high school for the kids and the parents.

This year we really pushed hard to have the Band Seniors fully recognized during the game. Having the middle school kids there made it more complicated but we got all of our seniors announced before their half time show. Look for Quinn on the very left side of the screen when his name is called.

This year and especially this night I feel so lucky to be part of this big band community of parents and kids and even more lucky to be part of the smaller group of 26 families with Seniors this year. We have really stuck together this last 4 years and we are enjoying every moment.
