September Stuff

Some stuff that happened in September.

First up, Quinn will audition for the California All State Band again this year. They hold a prep session, called CBDA Super Saturday, where students can take a master class with a highly respected musician in their instrument. This year the class was taught by Errol Rhoden who is a well known USC graduate. Look at all those tubas! Quinn loves this event.

On Ben’s birthday, Don was joking with him about putting his birthday candle in a burger which Ben thought was unbelievable and not to be done. Guess what happened on Don’s Birthday?

I need to add a comment about the shirt. Angelyne is a C-list celebrity who lives in the area. We were grocery shopping at our local market and this very short blonde lady asked Don to reach something for her on a high shelf and Don obliged. He then went out and got the shirt and gets so many positive comments about it. Angelyne drives a pink corvette and I frequently spot her around town.

If you know me, you know how much I love pickleball. I’ve met so many people that I never would have met if it had not been for pickleball. I can’t express how many great things pickleball has brought into my life. Including these lovely ladies who I meet in Beginner Pickleball class and now we play together every week.

Speaking of pickleball. Don living his best life in lavender.

Back to School Night and all the Band parents know to get there early to watch their kids perform!

I’m so lucky to be a Senior Band parent the same time as many of the people you see in the picture above. My friend Dawn (right picture, lower right corner above) made this car cling for me (and herself). We joke about getting tattoos next.

I wear alot of different hats with the Band Boosters. The Band Platform that the Drum Major stands on had a bent wheel and we needed a new one. I led the charge to get Senior Parents to donate to help fund the new platform and voila! We added this plaque so that our legacy gift will live on!

Don, Chris, and Carl have birthdays exactly 1 week apart (9/12, 9/19, and 9/26) so most years we celebrate together. This year we dined at Inn of the Seventh Ray in Malibu. An evening full of good food and lots of laughs.

The Marching Band is frequently practicing on the field where they have a great sunset view and my kid knows how much I love sunsets. Photo courtesy of Quinn.
