SCSBOA Championships

The Westlake High School Regiment qualified for the SCSBOA (Southern California School Band & Orchestra Association) and were seeded 10th out of 12 teams. The kids were happy to make it to championships and it’s such a great experience.

This is the schedule for the day. Start at 8:30 am and finish at 12:30 am. A team of about 25 parents made sure the kids had 2 full meals, plenty of water, moved all the props and instruments, and cheered them on like crazy!

And here they go! Not in Kansas Anymore.

After they compete, they had cup o noodles and sweet treats. These two thought it would be funny to drink out of brown paper bag and stumble around. Yikes.

The truck dads were out in force with their orange shirts. It takes quite a team to support the Regiment.

At 9:45 pm all the teams lined onto the field for awards. They call every team and Westlake finished 11th. The team was a little disappointed but the competition was really strong this year.

Unfortunately Don had to leave early to unload the truck but I was able to get a couple of pics with the kid. My selfie vs. his long arm selfie.

As you can see, the kids had a great time celebrating!

Hey it’s the summer jazz group!

The 6 seniors on the team making a pyramid for their paparazzi!

Your 2023 Westlake Regiment! We were so honored to watch them grow with each performance and it’s just a joy to be around the Regiment and their families. Here’s to another great season!
