Hart Rampage and Camarillo Classic

Last Saturday the kids performed at the Hart Rampage at College of the Canyons in Santa Clarita. This year all the kids are required to have their hair gelled or in a bun if it’s longer.

The team moving their props onto the field. The girl in front is a Junior Drum Major and she keeps this team in line. Plus she tells the kids lots of funny stories.

The bun comes out immediately after the show. Lex and her mom drove up to see the show and the kids were able to see each after the show.

As a uniform volunteer team member, we load all the uniforms and things on the truck and then we leave before the show is over to unload the truck at school. The truck driver that we contract to drive the 18-wheeler likes to get out of there as quickly as possible. The team placed 2nd overall in their category!

On Thursday night the Regiment had their last regular competition of the season at the Camarillo Classic. We will find out next week if they qualify for the Championships which will be held on November 18.

First up, some of the truck dads left work early so they could get the truck loaded up with equipment and props.

The sousaphone players getting ready to go on the field.

The team on the field and ready to go.

And their full performance of “Not in Kansas Anymore”.

The team placed 2nd again, which is pretty amazing considering they have a new coach and are mostly Freshman and Sophomores. Thousand Oaks High School has been winning everything and have a fabulous show — they have a team full of Juniors and Seniors so this is their year to win. WHS is in a building year and I can’t wait to see what they accomplish over the next couple of years.
