Day 5: The breakfast at the hotel was amazing! We would start with coffee with warm milk and hit the buffet that included sweet, savory, healthy, indulgent, vegetarian, meats, etc. And this view.

While eating breakfast, we happened to notice this tree just covered with iguanas. Maybe 5 or 6. Find Waldo!

We had a relaxing morning around the resort and then went on a guided tour of a sloth preserve. Again, our guide was amazing and pointed out all the creatures we would never see. Many of these pictures are through her telescope view finder.
We got back to the hotel right at happy hour so we hit the thermal pool with the swim up bar. Quinn ordered his 2-for-1 Pina Colada and this is the moment he realized that they had rum in them. Oh well, I guess mom is drinking Pina Coladas.

With all the rain, the warm thermal pool felt really nice.
Day 5: Zip Lining was Quinn’s #1 thing he wanted to do on our trip. Our travel agent had arranged it so our driver picked us up at the hotel with our luggage and took us to the zip lines and waited for us because today we were going to the beach.
We drove way up the mountain to get to the SkyTrek and had an amazing view of Arenal Lake.

Then we took the tram to the top of the mountain.
There were a series of about 6 different zip lines that go up to 1/2 mile each and up to 40 miles per hour. And they were super high!
Quinn is the first to go…
Then Amy…
Then Don…
Quinn wore a GoPro on his helmet so here’s a short little video of his adventure. The first zip line is in regular speed and then I speeded up the remaining trips.
The Zip Lines were definitely a highlight of the trip and we really enjoyed our 4 days in adventurous La Fortuna. Now on to the beach!
It was about a 4 hour trip with our favorite driver, Victor, to Tamarindo. We weren’t super impressed with our hotel or the beach but the sunset was quite lovely.
