An Afternoon at Leo Carillo

On a beautiful sunny SoCal Sunday we enjoyed an afternoon at Leo Carillo beach which is on the Ventura/Malibu line.

We hit the beach at low tide so there will be lots of tide pools and things to explore.  Unfortunately all of the caves that we used to find so fun are gone.  Not sure if the low tide was higher or if the tides have brought sand in, but they were gone.  Boo!!

And the view the other way.

SkateRat

Don & I feel like all California boys need to know how to to skateboard and surf.  We\’re starting with skateboarding.
So for his birthday, Mae got Quinn a skateboard and he was pretty psyched about it.  We went to a local indoor skatepark to pick out his new board.

Once we got home Quinn took it for a spin with a little help from dad.

Just gliding down a gentle hill.

And Don showing off his moves.

The next day I took Quinn back to the skatepark for a group lesson.  Here he is ready to go.

Learning how to stand on his board.

And a couple of quick videos of his mad skills.  More lessons coming up 🙂
